Popping Champagne at Calabasas Malibu Food & Wine Festival

These days great company, champagne and a beautiful setting make for an amazing day and event. The Champagne Brunch for the Calabasas Malibu Food & Wine Festival on June 11th had all of these components. It was truly a beautiful event with great food from Toscanova out on the beautiful patio, live music from Tara Macri and great conversations with great company that included chefs from the previous 2 evening of the festival. I wish I could have made the first two nights because everyone was talking about how truly fantastic they were.

I always love it when I can leave an event with a huge smile on my face from enjoyment and I left with a big one from this one. I made lifelong friends from this one and have from all of Barcelona Enterprises past events as well. Barcelona Enterprises, who put the 3 day festival, put on a truly luxurious, classy event. I felt like I had known everyone for year and was welcomed with open arms. I will definitely be going again next year and will be bringing my family and friends. A champagne brunch is a perfect way to end a spectacular 3 day festival.

As Alan Semsar (CEO/Founder of Barcelona Enterprises) said, “The world’s top brands came together to support arts and education that included McLaren Beverly Hills, Capital One, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Samuel Adams. Cheers to them.” This shows how Alan and his team not only put on spectacular events on a continuous basis, but continuously put great causes at the forefront as to why they do what they do. What do you all look for in a fashion staple to last you through the different seasons ? Each new season, I always try to find fun, key pieces that can go with anything. As I was trying to pick out what new pieces for Spring, I realized I wanted the key pieces I got to last me though Summer. For being a Cali girl my Spring and Summer fashion pieces pretty much go hand and hand. Savory, Sweets and Sparkle Extravaganza

Rocking Target, Forever 21 and Wet n Wild paired with One Hope and Tinselbox

Finding the perfect theme for an afternoon lunch can be a challenge, but a fun one. My usual go to is Nautical with a Parisian twist, but I wanted to chang it up this time. So when I got sent the amazing Unicorn party theme supplies by Tinselbox and a rainbow sparkle bottle of One Hope‘s delicious champagne, I knew I had my theme. With it being the year of the unicorn trend and sparkle was a must, I was excited to get to planning. My decorations were set, beverages chosen, so now it was time to pick the food.

My go to spots these days are All Recipes and Food Network and it was no different this time around either. I found some amazing savory googies to make: Garlic Cheese Biscuits, Deviled Eggs and BLT Pasta were from All Recipes and the Shrimp Arugula Crostinis were from Food Network, which were all a hit and will definitely be made again. I also picked up cheeses and meats for an appetizers at Trader Joe’s. I made sure not to forget one of the most important parts of a meal, dessert. The dessert of choice, Raspberry and Earl Grey French macaroons from Whole Foods, which are perfect with champagne.

Now that the food is squared away, it is set up time. A champagne and unicorn theme is perfect for under the lemon tree in my backyard and just the right time to bust out the vintage bar cart. It was a joyful filled with bubbles by One and Unicorn decorations and supplies from Tinselbox, which I will never forget. You can never go wrong with a day of sparkles, bubbles and fun with family.

What to Give the Woman that has Given Me Everything?

As I write this Mother’s Day is just a couple days away and it gets me thinking every year how lucky I am to have a mom like mine who supports, loves, pushes and allows me to shoot for the stars.

When I was little she let me play in dirt, sing like I was the next pop star on my plastic microphone, change my clothes 10 times a day like I was a runway model to letting me pack up my blue suitcase when I was 5 thinking I was moving out. The point of all these stories is that my mom let me be me and continues to let me be me so I ask myself, “How do I choose what to get such an amazing mom the perfect Mother’s Day gift? Yes,Please of the Week: All Things San Diego

So I have been away for awhile and now I am back. I wanted to kick start with another Yes, Please piece. This week it is yes,please to all things San Diego. It is like my second home from family being there to amazing restaruants that I just can’t stay away from. I just spent 4th of July there and it was nice to able to walk everywhere and interact with great family and friends. I enjoyed so much that weekend, but ones that stood out was spending time with my sister, brunch with friends and fireworks !

It isn’t always about the holiday weekend in San Diego. It can be about going to a Charger game and cheering them on, which is another big yes, please in San Diego. What I love to about San Diego too is that there are some many great little pockets of cute towns from Old Town to La Jolla to the Gaslamp District. Also, another one of my favorite places and activities that is about an hour outside of the city is Julian and apple picking. I have done it twice and each time and so much time walking through the cute town, going apple picking, eating apple pie and eating lunch in the outside park.

I have come to realize San Diego has part of my heart and love the warmth and down to earth feel it has to offer and all the amazing things it has to offer. There is something in San Diego for everyone from Sports to Fashion Week to Comic Con to Restaurant & Beer Week(it is a foodies paradise). So don’t be afraid to say Yes,Please to San Diego and go out and explore. Can’t wait to hear what you all think.
