Yes Pleases of the Week

“Live your life as a series of obsessions.”

One of my favorite times of the week is here, my Yes Pleases. This week was another fun one to put together. Here we go to this week’s Yes Pleases !

Yes Please #1: Football Season

Football Season is back and already we are into week three. I am so excited for football to be back. I love the sport, the energy it brings, the food and of course supporting my Chicago Bears. Here’s to hoping for an awesome football season for DA Bears, always a Yes Please !

Yes Please #2: Slip On Mules

So I have been a fan of mules for awhile now and so excited to see the evolution of them. There are heels, faux fur, florals, metallics, nudes, neutrals and so many other amazing details and options. As mules continue to transform so do my outifits. I continue to say a big Yes Please to mules !

Yes Please #3: Eric & Jessie is Back on E!

Yay, Eric&Jessie is back on E! after being away for 3 years. It premiered a couple of weeks ago and episode 3 just aired. This show is happy, goofy, full of laughs and serious relationship goals. The show is a must watch and a big Yes Please !

Yes Please #4: Woven Pear Socks

Woven Pear has quickly become a part of my sock drawer ever since I picked up my first two pairs at a local boutique. They are cute, comfy and full of fabulous details (one being the cute woven pear) and love all the different choices. I recently was sent these amazing Ice Cream socks and Bison socks to feature, which is officially one of my favorite packages to get. They are another accessory that gives not only comfort, but that fun peekaboo pop to an ensemble. For me, Woven Pear is always a Yes Please !

Yes Please #5: Hask Hair Products

My hair is thick and there is a lot of it. I am always looking for great products that are paraben & sulfate free. I have fallen in love with Hask Hair ever since I first tried their shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo (my fave). I have been wanting to try all their products for awhile so I was overjoyed when Hask Hair themselves sent me all their amazing products. I was overwhelmed with joy and excitement to try them all. Hask Hair is hair happiness for me and always a Yes Please !

Perfect Formulas: Healthy Nails are Beautiful Nails

“Your nails are a way to speak your style without having to say a word.” ~ Tammy Taylor

For as long as I can remember I have loved having my nails done and keeping them healthy. It was an activity my sister and I enjoyed partaking in with our mom at the dining room table. It is a tradition that we still partake in whether at home or at a salon that we love. What we love about this tradition is that it’s full of laughter and bonding with one another.

So with nail polish being a dominate accessory for me, I was so pumped when I received this Pink Gel Coat polish from Perfect Formula. What is so great about this product is the keratin protein-rich nail coating that instantly strengthens, seals and protects the nails. I am already obsessed and after only one use I can see and feel a difference in my nail health. Yay ! Some other added bonuses about the Pink Gel Coat polish is that it dries quickly and also works as a base coat. Yes Please, sign me up !

This is a product that is great for not only your nail health, but is fun and fabulous as well. It is a product I love and am so glad it was introudced to me. I highly recommend  trying out Perfect Formula’s Pink Gel Coat, which can be found at any Ulta Beauty store. Yay for Fantastic Nail Care !

P.S. What is your favorite nail polish you would pair with Perfect Formula’s Pink Gel Coat? Mine is this nude color by Oribe. I will be wearing both every day !

Fireworks, Fashion and Music: All Things 4th of July

“Land That I Love, Stand Beside Her, And Guide Her, Through The Night With The Light From Above.” ~God Bless America

4th of July is all about celebrating our freedoms with family and friends. This is one of my favorite holidays. The reason for that is it is a day that makes me really go all out to celebrate the freedoms I am so grateful for and to celebrate with those I love makes it even more special.

So in honor of 4th of July, here are some of my all time essentials. In terms of skincare I always like give myself a hydrating, relaxing facial due to the fact that I will be out in the sun. It helps keep my skin hydrating and stress free. Before hand make sure your skin is nice and clean (I use Garnier’s Miscellar Water). This go around I used a new mask by Avatara Chill Out Face Mask from Target. It dripped a little bit when I first put it on, but overall I will be using it again and to make it extra relaxing, you can put it in the fridge (defintely works). Next comes moisture and SPF application for that much needed hydration and sun protection. Lately I have been using Yes To Grapefruit Even Skin Moisturizer, ELF Cosmetics Illuminating Eye Cream and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 55 Sunscreen. Also for all over sun protection, I like to use Honest Company’s Sunscreen Spray (make sure to shake before application).

Let me tell you, I love them all so far and they don’t seem to be upsetting my sensitive skin, which is always a good thing. I am extra dilligent with this routine come 4th of July celebrations since it’s all about the sunshine. Also, water is the final key for hydrating on a sunshine filled day like July 4th. I usually am drinking from my Bando water bottle or SmartWater‘s sparkling water if I am craving some carbonation.

Now on to one of my favorite parts: attire and beauty. I have a tradition every 4th of July to pick up a fun new outfit and this year was no different. I went with camo and khaki from Target, which I am excited to rock on the day (stay tuned). I rock other favorite Patriotic ensembles leading up to Independence Day, here are a few options I have:

For makeup I usually add a pop of a red lip, sparkle and if feeling daring, I pop on some blue eyeshadow like this one MAC Cosmetics has to offer. My nails have always been such a fun way to try out new holiday designs. It is is either navy with sparkle, Chicago Cubs theme or like this year it is a fun twist with a set from imPress. This is another reason I love the 4th as well, it brings out my creative side.

Another must is busting out the decorations. I am loving these ones I got from Michael’s and Party City last year.

If y’all are feeling crafty this year, check out these fun DIY decorations on Pinterest!

You can’t have all this fablousness without some fun activities to celebrate. There are so many fun options to celebrate from Disneyland, water sports, BBQ backyard games, the beach and of course checking out fireworks. This year I will be all about the beach by laying out with my cute sunnies and sun hat while eating great food. Some awesome options are corn on the cob to hot dogs to delicious cocktails, so be sure to check out Pinterest for some of these awesome recipes and others ! If you are in the mood for eating out, check out the local cities’ website for help navigating the great restaurants they have to offer. I will definitely be ending the celebration with an awesome fireworks show or two 🙂 I love them and they make me smile!

Everything is in order except for one thing, the soundtrack for this year’s Independence Day extravaganza. There are so many to choose from, how do I choose ? I am picking the ones that get me smiling and dancing all around. Lets kick it off with some classics first, God Bless America and The National Anthem followed by Zac Brown Band’s ‘Chicken Fried’ and ‘Castaway’. I will definitely have to bust out ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ by JT as well as ‘Happy’ by Pharell. Last but not least ‘Uptown Funk’ by Bruno Mars because everyone likes some funk music to get the party started.

I saved the best for last, thanking all those that have given myself and everyone the freedom to be who we want to be, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Wishing y’all a safe and Happy 4th of July !

P.S. How do y’all like to celebrate the 4th of July ? I am all about the beach and sunshine 🙂

Watching sports has been one of America’s past times for a very long time. I know I fall into this category. Now how do you say I got into watching sports? My dad has been a lover of sports since he was little. So for me it started in the womb and I was born into rocking Chicago sports gear and routing for Chicago teams, which I bleed Chicago sports through and through. AS I got older every sports season became not just seeing my teams win, but about spending qulaity time with my dad and the rest of my family.

Supporting my teams and all the sports teams is more than that, don’t get me wrong watching them win is amazing, but it is also about family, friendship and laughter. Watching sports with my dad and the rest of my family is where my heart is always ! I will never be to old for this and as I have gotten older it is fun to incorporate my love of sports into my love of fashion . Now I can love both at the same time !

IMG_7976

My love of sports goes deep and way back to the beginning. It will always be where my heart is because it’s all about family for me (the fashion is a welcomed bonus).

Lights, Camera, Oscars !

oscars

It is Oscar season, which means fashion, movies, popcorn and stars ! I look forward to it every year. I love seeing what my favorite stars are going to wear, say and who will win. I think my love for the Oscars started when my family and I would print the Oscar ballots out every year(totally did this year again) and when we all try and see the nominated stars and films ( I have been slacking on this one lately).

Yes, fashion is always at the top of my list for why I watch the red carpet shows, but like I said the big part of why I love Oscar season is the family memories I have and will continue to have when watching with those I love.

I leave you with who I am most excited to see watch rock my favorite designers: Jennifer Lawrence, Brie Larson, Cate Blanchett, Leonardo Dicaprio and Joe Manganiello (hope he will be there 🙂 ) and for who I am most excited to win: Leonardo Dicaprio ( this is his year ) and Kate Winselt( just love her) .
