I’m teaming up with Wayfair to bring you The Summer Edit, including a Q & A with me, home design inspiration and advice, and my product picks for the season. Home design is one of my favorite things to dive into each season and Summer time is definitely one of my favorites.

The Wayfair Summer Edit Q & A with Kerry of Iced Tea & Top Knots

Wayfair: Which area of your home are you most focused on updating or sprucing up for the summer season and why?

Kerry: I am the most focused on fixing up my backyard and making it an oasis because I have a feeling that will be where my family and I spend most of our time on the beautiful summer nights.

Wayfair: Which color palettes are speaking to you this season?

Kerry: I really love neutral colored furniture mixed with colored accents like orange and blue, which ties into my love of sports.

Wayfair: Are there any home design trends that you are really loving right now?

Kerry: I am loving the trend of creating an oasis and place to hang right in your own home.

Wayfair: Which activities are you most looking forward to this summer?

Kerry: I am looking forward to having amazing summer nights in my backyard with my family and friends while watching baseball.

Kerry’s Wayfair Product Picks for Summer

For me when I am shopping for products for summer, I don’t like to change the big pieces out like couches and tables , but I love to change out the accents like rugs, pillows, lights and table decor (table runner, candles, flowers). Pieces I do love to change out that are on the larger side are items like bar carts and outdoor storage like spices up the space I am working on. Here are some of my favorite products picks from the bathroom sanctuary to awesome pieces for the outdoor oasis.

Summer Highlight: Dreamy Vacation-Worthy Bathrooms

For me creating a sanctuary all throughout the home is one of the most important things I need especially in the summer when things seem extra hectic. That dreamy sanctuary for me starts with my bathroom, specifically my bathtub and vanity/sink. The reason for that is they are the spots that bring me the most zen from having a bubble bath with candles to doing my skincare and makeup routines at the vanity/sink area. Yes, I do sometimes sit on the counter with my feet in the sink like when I was a teeanger and it is the best!

Five cute outdoor decor ideas for summer that won’t break the bank!

Not everything has to break the bank especially when it comes to redoing your summer outdoor space. How to keep from doing that is changing out your accent pieces or picking out new ones like lights and/or fire pits.

Here are my top 5 items to change out or get new that won’t break the bank:

  1. Change out your outdoor rug for a bright, fun new one
  2. Add outdoor string lights
  3. Incorporate a fire pit table
  4. Get a fun outdoor game set up like cornhole
  5. Be sure to add a great, large umbrella

Backyard Oasis for the Family- Part 1

*This Post Was Sponsored By Wayfair*

My family has been through a lot the last few years and that doesn’t even include the world’s challenge of Covid. So once 2020 hit, I knew in 2021 I would create a backyard oasis for my family. We are a family that have always loved creating experiences outside whenever we can and when it is cozy well, we tend to utilize it even more.

I had the pleasure of partnering with Wayfair to do that. Getting the backyard oasis pieces put together for my family created just what we needed after a hard few years. We can’t wait to have dinners, chats, family hangs and s’more making nights whenever we can!

Here is part 1 of the Oasis and stay tuned for part 2 very soon.

Yes Pleases of the Week

“The best is yet to come.”

This week has been a rough week for me (more on that later), but as the weekend is just on the horizon, hope is in the air. It is all getting better and life is good. Through this rough week there have been a handful of things that have helped. These are the things that are my obsessions/ Yes Pleases that have helped me get through this rough week.

Hope they inspire and give y’all a pick me up whenever you are having a rough time. Here’s to an amazing weekend and new week. Let’s go Yes Pleases !

Yes Please #1: Country Music

Country Music seems to always be on my music play list. It is the perfect music for any occasion. More recently including this week it has helped pick me up out of rough times and back into a state of joy. I listen to it all and country music will always be my music Yes Please !

Yes Please #2: L’BRI Pure n’ Natural products

I will be the first to admit I haven’t in the past been as diligent with my skincare routine. I have noticed that when I am making sure to keep my routine in the morning and at night, I feel better inside and out. I have started to realize how important skincare and selfcare are, which are now both a constant priority for me. This past week especially was one that got better in part to my new skincare routine thanks to L’BRI Pure n’ Natural skincare products ( thanks again for sending them ). They are aloe based, all natural, great for my skin and easy to use. They have brought an ease to my routine, which continues to help me from skincare to selfceare, which in my book will continue to be a Yes Please !

Yes Please #3: Enjoying Outside with Evening Walks

For me it is not always easy to get up and go out and be active even though I really want to. Slowly, but surely it is getting easier and what has helped is evening walks after dinner with my mom. This has been a great mood booster and a push to get me back into a workout routine. It always helps me to be active when nature and good conversation are involved. It all makes for a big Yes Please !

Yes Please #4: Modern Family + Laughter

Laughter is the best medicine. When I am in need of a great laugh, I put on Modern Family. It is a show that never fails in making me have a belly full of laughs. Laughter and Modern Family make for a real pick me up and Yes Please !

Yes Please #5: DIY Manicure

As you all may know I love a great manicure and these days I am all about a DIY manicure. It has helped me in recent weeks and days because it puts me in a zen like relaxation state, which is always needed. Slowing my mind down can be a struggle, but making time for a DIY mani has certainly been a big helper in doing that. DIY mani time has helped de-stress and keeps me in a creative mindset throughout the last couple of weeks. I will continue to incorporate pamper/mani time when I can. My color of choice at the moment is this purple one from Claire’s, which fit right into my photo shoot fun of this week. Any activity that keeps me zen and creative will always be a Yes Please !

This last week or so was a challenge, but all of these have helped me throughout it and why they are this week’s Yes Pleases. Hope they will help y’all in any stressful times. Thanks for listening and here is to next week’s and for things looking up !
