Must Haves for the Week

My weekly series is back ! My must haves of the week will continue every week again. This week’s list was definitely so much fun putting it together. Here are the must haves of the week. Hope they inspire you all !

Must Have #1: Cube Appeal’s Daily Planning Notebook

My goal for 2018 has been doing everything with meaningful intention and finding things to help stay on this track is key. When my friend over at Cube Appeal sent me the Daily Planning Notebook, I knew it was meant to be in helping me experience each moment with the purest of intentions. This will continue to be a must have that will always be in my purse !

Must Have #2: Wonder Woman

I recently just watched Wonder Woman for the first time. Let me tell you, I am truly inspired from this movie. It is all about strong women and them sticking to their convictions and beliefs as well as standing up for others. All of this is a must have !

Must Have #3: San Francisco

San Francisco has continuously been a city I like, but it has in the recent months been a city that I truly have fallen in love with. The little cities within the city ae truly spectacular and unique from one another, which is one of the reasons I have fallen in love with the city of San Francisco. From North Beach to Fisherman’s Warf to Mission District and so much more. The energy is amazing, the people are great, scenery is gorgeous and all around spectacular, always a must have !

Must Have #4: Yoga Works

In my new journey of physical and mental health being a priority, yoga has become a big part of my journey and life. I have been on a hunt for a studio that I connect with and feel at home that studio is Yoga Works in Old Town Pasadena. The teachers, fellow yogis have the best energy and I connected with them right away. My yoga journey will continue to be a priority and Yoga Works will always be a must have for me.

Must Have #5: Self Care

This not a new must have for me, but one that continues to be a high priority, self care. Whether it is a facial while burning my favorite Jax Kelly candle or a yoga class, self care is a routine I continue to love and need. Always a must have !

That time of year is here,, music festival season. Two of my favorite things about festival season is the music and fashion. These stairs in Silverlake got me thinking about what I am passionate about. My two passions in life I can’t do without are sports and fashion. It seems more and more that these 2 loves of mine are colliding, which is so exciting. What has allowed these two worlds to collide are my lifestyle blog and pr career.

My passion for both grows everyday. My blog allows me to embrace both loves and not having to choose between the two is such a joy and dream.

Each day I love finding ways to continuously have sports and fashion in my professional life and personal life. I am sure after I shot on the rainbow stairs, I went home changed into my sports gear and watched some baseball and/or golf. Even as I type up this post, I am watching my Chicago Cubs take on the Cincinnati Reds.

Something I still struggle with is trying to fullfill both sides of me (fashion girl & sports fanatic), but the more I focus on my blogging and honing in on my pr career it seems my two passions come together.

Being at the rainbow stairs and some moments since then, I have realized that I don’t have to choose between the two. For y’all too, if you have multiple passions in life, don’t get discouraged about feeling like you have to choose. You can find ways to pursue them both or even mold them together.

Each day, I am so grateful that everyone around me is so supportive, allow me to be me and pursue what I love. Don’t let others get in your way of what you are passionate about , where there is a will there is a way.

I love fashion and I love all things sports. They will both always be a part of all aspects in my life. I am so grateful and excited about where they both will take me!

All About L’BRI PURE n’ NATURAL

Skincare isn’t an easy thing. It is something that takes time and commitment. Even though it is a commitment, it is one that is well worth it. I am one that has gone to sleep with makeup on, which is not good. In recent years though I have made my skincare routine a priority. I definitely work to never sleep with makeup on these days and my skin thanks me for it.

As someone with sensitive skin, I am always looking to find products that work and don’t irritate my skin. I have tried a lot and found ones I love, but never all from the same brand. Well I can finally say I have found those products and that brand is L’BRI PURE n’ NATURAL. I was recently introduced to L’BRI when they sent me all their amazing products for my sensitive/combination skin.

Daily Cleansing Liquid Hand Soap

I received everything from face wash to lotion to a face masque and even hair & body care (more on that later). I have now been using it all for 2 weeks, which I can tell you my skin and I are loving every product. My sensitive skin is in heaven with no skin irritation, yay !

I love that all the products are pure and natural. What helps contribute to the naturalness is that the first ingredient in the products is aloe, which is amazing. Aloe is natural, great for any skin type and always helps keep the skin healthy including mine.

I could go on forever on L’BRI and their products, but I want to highlight a few of my favorites. Let’s first start with the Deep Pore Cleanser, which is Step 1 in the skincare routine. What I love about this cleanser is the gentleness of it as well as my pores feeling deep cleansed throughout the day. My skin feels rejuvenated each time I use it. Yes to this cleanser !

I am next going to highlight the Smooth n’ Firm Eye Repair Gel. It is Step 3 and Step 4 (when I use the masque or peel). I have struggled with finding the perfect eye gel or creme and this one by L’BRI is my current favorite. It is light and gentle while also hydrating my eye area, which I love. I will continue to use this awesome eye gel.

My third and final L’BRI product that I am excited to highlight for y’all is the lotion. There are 2 types: Oil-Free Moisturizer, SPF 32 (for day) and Gentle Moisture Lotion (for night). I can’t tell you how many different types of face lotions I have tried. I have found ones I like, but never ones I am in love with. Well I am happy to say that the look is over. I am in love with both my day and night lotions from L’BRI. I love the consistency, how it moisturizes and hydrates, which is what makes them perfect. I love that they don’t sufficate my skin, it feels light while also keeping it super healthy. I am officially hooked.

I continue to keep up with my L’BRI PURE n’ NATURAL skincare routine and I am so grateful for all they sent me because my skin feels so revitalized. I also love to do my morning routine outside, just love the sunshine. My skin hasn’t felt this good in a long time, thank you ! Yes Please #1: Despicable Me 3 out Today, June 30th

To put it mildly, I am obsessed with Despicable Me and all things Minions. The moment I saw the trailer for Despicable Me 3, I jumped/screamed with joy. It is a franchise that makes me laugh and smile everytime. I will always be hooked and definitely going to be seeing Despicable Me 3 !

Yes Please #2: Glamour Magazine

I have been subscribing to Glamour since I was 17. I don’t remember a time where I wasn’t reading Glamour, I just fell in love with it because of the fashion, inspiring stories, lifestyle pics and Glamour represents supporting one another. Definitely go check out Glamour Magazine because it has something for everyone.

Yes Please #3: Kate Spade Notebook

I was in need of a new notebook for writing and I immediately gravitated to this one by Kate Spade at Paper Source. I love the quote on the front and the feel of the paper when I put my pen to it. I am always inspired everytime I open it.

Yes Please #4: Sun Hats

Sun Hats are perfect for summertime. Not only do they help protect from the sun, but can go with any outfit. They are one of my favorite summertime accessories. I have definitely accumulated a lot over the years. One of my favorite’s right now is my ‘Just Chillin’ tan sun hat from Sidecca and embroidered sun hats are very on trend for summer, which I love.

How To Honor Those Who Served This Memorial Day

First off, thank you to those that gave their lives for us and all that continue to serve for our freedoms. In honor of these brave soldiers, here are some amazing ways we can honor and celebrate them !

Another idea I have seen around too that I one day want to try for Memorial Day is a Memorial Day Adult Scavenger Hunt around town with friends, how fun and what a great way to celebrate our soldiers !

The struggle to not overload one’s purse with knick knacks for fear of needing is very much an everyday thing. So I thought to help you all out and myself breakdown the essentials to have a lighter purse for everyday while also not feeling like anything was forgotten.

Now where to start? We are always on the go and need something to always keep us connected to work, family and friends, which is our phones ( also in the purse). To keep this going, we need the first essential of a portable battery charger. A portable charger allows you to stay connected while also being able to be on the go. It is an essential that will allow you to relax knowing you won’t lose that connection. I prefer this one at the moment by iFrogz (love the pop of pink; not pictured do to that my phone was charging 😉 ), but Target and other retailers have all kinds to fulfill your needs of portable charging.

We got the charge covered now to a bit of sparkle. When on the go a lot, there may not be time to stop and get a manicure, which can be a bummer. Fear not, I have the perfect mani essentials for your purse. This mini set & polish remover by Dazzle Dry (dries in 5 minutes and appears like gel polish), cuticle cream by Lush (smells great too) and a mini mani kit like this one I have (similiar ones can be found at TJ Maxx, Target and any beauty store) . What makes them all great go must haves to throw in the purse is they are a perfect size to not overload your favorite on the go purse.

Playing off beauty essentials, lip care is always on my mind. My go to product to keep my lips shiny and moisturized has always been rosebud salve since high school. It is a size that is purse perfect that can be found at Sephora or Urban Outfitters, so always a big yes,please !!

The next few on the go essentials for me are a great group because they bring the zen to my purse and on the go routine so I hope they do for you all. It is a pocket notepad and pen to write when inspired like these form Sidecca and Paper Source paired with my favorite Chanel sunnies and my headphones to rock out to music while writing. Everyone’s zen musts are different so hope these help inspire yours.

When on the go be sure to take a few moments to stop and focus on yourself and check in to make sure all is good 🙂 Whether it is meditating in the sunshine or reading a great fashion magazine like Glamour or Cosmo (both musts for me) .

Okay, back to the must haves! The first is almonds (like these great ones from Trader Joe’s), which are a healthy pick me up snacks that I need to pack on a more regular basis. The second /final one is a set of business cards (mine are from Etsy that are carried in a metallic case from Container Store by Poppin). They are a must because you never know who you will run into. Having both almonds and business cards have come in handy (thanks to all who suggested having both).

A Getaway to Ventura with my Dad : A Restart to a Long Family Tradition

Recently I took a vacation to Ventura with my awesome dad to recharge our batteries with a relaxing few days. We drove up the coast, rocked out to music and ate and dranks some great snacks (Boom Chicka Pop and Tejava Iced Tea). Our first stop was up to Ojai (not to far north of Ventura) for a delicious lunch and conversation. Of course I had to stop my dad to take some pictures, thanks again! We then enjoyed the surroundings of beautiful Ojai by exploring on foot.

It was an amazing, peaceful start to our bonding and relaxing trip. Now it was time to check into our beautiful hotel, Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach . It is officially one of my favorite hotels. Here are the reasons why: right near the beach, great views, amazing room, relaxing pool that looks at the ocean and a great staff.

We were settled in relaxing, snacking, coloring and catching up on sports (something my dad and I will always love sharing together).

Before dinner it was time for a relaxing moment by the pool and bust out my swimwear from Target to go along with my coverup by Helmut Lang compliments of Attire LA (they were kind enought to lend me pieces for my amazing trip). A must have was my 2 Penny Blue bag along with the current Glamour magazine and of course my dad brought baseball magazines to prepare for the upcoming baseball season. It was so fantastic to relax in the sun and dip my toes in the water while looking at the ocean.

It was now happy hour and dinner time at the fabulous Embassy Suites in Oxnard and Lure Fish House in downtown Ventura. Now when I tell you this is a must, it truly is a must. Amazing meal for us both, delicious. A walk after dinner was the perfect end to a perfect first day of vacation.

After breakfast in downtown Ventura, it was activity time so we decided on the Outlets in Camarillo because they have an awesome movie theatre. Of course we stopped in a few shops and found some fun stuff. The movie was starting, which was Logan ( Hugh Jackman’s last one) and let me tell you it was simply fantastic and riveting. My dad and I both loved it.

Movies were great and it was happy hour time now. My dad and mom have explored some great wineries so we stopped at one of them, 4 Brix Winery, which is officially always on my list when I am in the area. Wine was spectacular, cheese plate was savory & sweet , convo was fun and loved their amazing event space with the beautiful wine barrels. You will want to put this winery on your list.

What came next on this Ventura adventure? Trying a new spot that my friend suggested, Cork (only had been open four months and know it will be there for a long time). My dad and I loved everything about it from the fantastic wine to the service and atmosphere. The food also looked and smelled amazing and can’t wait to try it next time 🙂

It was going from a beautiful day to a majestic night. With a day filled of beauty and fun, another favorite of mine, a nap, was for sure needed. Dinner duds were now on and we were ready for an amazing steak dinner at Cafe Zack. Also, if you are a non-meat eater, they offer so many other amazing dishes for you to enjoy 🙂 We ended dinner with a decadent chocolate dessert, outstanding ! It was another end to an amazing day.

The third and final day to a great vacation was spent having a great breakfast at the hotel and enjoying the beautiful view one last time. Ventura was an amazing vacation with my dad and the getaway we needed, definitely will be back to explore even more again soon.
